Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about Skawen composite casing, product selection, project-specific air handling units, pool ventilation, residential recovery, controls and service.

Skawen combines a lightweight composite casing with project-specific equipment configuration, energy functions, controls and support. The approach is particularly relevant where corrosion, access, weight, space or unusual operating conditions affect equipment selection.

The composite construction supports corrosion resistance, low weight, reduced thermal bridging and modular configuration. Exact casing classifications depend on the approved product construction.

Skawen uses product families and a configurable casing platform. The final arrangement is selected according to project requirements; this does not mean that every component is unique.

Outdoor installation is possible for suitable configurations. Weather exposure, temperature, UV, drainage, service access and structural requirements must be evaluated for the project.

Depending on the product and project, modular or sectional delivery may be possible. The transport, lifting and assembly concept must be agreed before production.

It is developed for demanding humid and corrosive applications, including pool environments. Internal components and materials must also be selected for the actual conditions.

Selection requires pool-water surface, water and room temperatures, target humidity, occupancy, operating schedule, outdoor conditions, building information, energy sources and available installation space.

It is a modular extract-air energy-recovery solution developed mainly for apartment-building renovation. Configurations may use an existing heat pump or include a Skawen heat pump and accumulation, subject to project evaluation.

No universal payback period should be assumed. The result depends on airflow, operating hours, heating system, temperatures, energy prices, selected configuration and installation cost.

Integration may be provided according to the selected controller, protocol and agreed data-point list. Requirements should be defined during product selection.

Connected monitoring may be available for selected systems and configurations. The exact data, user access, alarms and service functions must be defined for the project.

Provide building or application type, location, airflow, design temperatures, humidity requirements, pressure, recovery requirement, energy sources, dimensions, installation location, access route, controls and project schedule.

Current public files are available through Technical Resources. Configuration-specific data and drawings can be requested directly from Skawen.

Send the project name, site address, product type, serial number, identification-plate photograph, alarm or issue description and relevant photographs to technical support.
